ICYMI in your email in box this past week, we thought Pastor Gus made an excellent suggestion for getting closer to God:

Having difficulties finding time to be quiet with God? Yet it is fairly easy for you to get to the dentist, doctor, CPA, grocery store, auto mechanic actually just about anything else in life. Try using your smart phone or old-fashioned calendar, like I have, to “schedule” an appointment with God. It’s easier than you think. God’s schedule is usually wide-open, no waiting three weeks for a specialist. Of course God may be unusually busy around tax-time, the first of the month and during Bronco games, but I am certain there will be time to squeeze you in even as God is the “King of All Creation” and all that. Simply have Google or Siri do the work– “Set alarm for 10 a.m. next Friday.” “Appointment with God.” Spend a little extra quiet time with God during this season of advent, it will be well worth the investment in prayer, song or study of scripture.
