It is a process getting to know a person, isn’t it? We are all a product of our collective experiences.
Today, we share with you a brief biography of Pastor Kim so we can all get to know her a little better:
Kim was born and raised overseas as part of a Foreign Service family. Aside from the cities where she lived abroad with her family and served as a missionary, home for Kim is both Colorado (her mom is a native), and the Washington, DC, area. Kim’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History (English Literature minor) at Virginia Tech, a Master of Arts in International Affairs at The George Washington University, and a Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary (Biblical Studies emphasis). Kim is currently working on her doctorate in Spirituality and Story, also at Wesley Theological Seminary.
Prior to entering seminary, Kim worked in the Federal government, corporate, and non-profit worlds. Following graduation, she launched a small business in the field of visual arts and communication, focusing on photography, print, and digital media while supporting churches, non-profits, educational institutions, and arts organizations.
Eventually, full-time ministry called, leading Kim to serve a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation in Venice, Florida, as Director of Missions and Visual Arts, and a United Methodist congregation in Rochester, Minnesota. There, she served in multiple pastoral ministries, during which Kim was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Kim was then called to serve as Associate Pastor for Missions and Discipleship at a PCUSA congregation in Augusta, Georgia. There, she continued to deepen her ministry and pastoral skills, particularly in the areas of preaching and faith formation.
Kim’s passion and calling are in worship, spirituality, narrative, and the arts, and their role in faith formation. Over the past year, she discerned God beckoning her to return to those areas of ministry, and to be near family here in Colorado. Being called to Harmony as Temporary Supply has been a true answer to prayer, as she will continue serving as a pastor while launching an arts and narrative ministry.
Kim has a rescue pup, Jax, and loves to spend her free time walking, creating art, reading, practicing yoga, watching movies, and deepening relationships with dear friends.
See you in worship Sunday!
