With the epic flooding that has struck Texas and Louisiana, no doubt most of us will want to help in whatever way we can.
First: BE COMFORTED in the words of Paul in Romans, Chapter 8, Verse 28: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”
Does that mean our path will always be easy? Not at all! A little later Paul writes in Romans, Chapter 8, Verses 35-39: “Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness or peril, or sword? As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor rulers nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Second: PRAY. That’s an easy one! But so important . . .
Third: GIVE if you are able to do so. If not now, then sometime down the road. The need will be great for a long time to come.
Here are two ways for you to do that:
